The Administrators
Born for clerks. In love with the routine, prizing order and zealously adhering to hierarchy. What they hate is change. Their concept of Heaven is their comfort zone. Arguing with them is, by definition, wasteful. They are somewhat heartless by nature – in the orderly world there’s no place for emotions. Emotions are disorderly. Sans family, they avoid social relationships. Not because they are anti-social but because relationships imply commitment and commitment opens the door for surprises. They fight against any change. Change means something new, something new leads to uncertainty and uncertainty drives them mad. The worst role for such a person is one that requires creativity and innovation. There are no artists who are administrators. As employees they never excel but they are not mediocre or subpar either. Sometimes they can be fun, interesting and interactive… as bricks or figs. They love to follow the rules. As a result they are relatively good bosses for as long as one does not dare step away from the rules. Stepping away results in war. They are great employees because they never challenge anyone “above” them. Ever. Once they “size you up” – this is it. Their opinion for you will never change because…change is in act of evil that destroys the routine, the order the hierarchy. By nature they are conservative. They are world treasure. Without them the social fabric and order will crumble and fall. Only with them – the civilization would have ended already.
The Liberators
The Liberators are energy incarnated, incinerated or incarcerated. Sometimes all three. They have excessive amounts of energy which they direct to anything imaginable. Their obsessed maniacs. Neurotic by definition, restless. For them everything is a cause, Crusade and Jihad. Everything matters, everything is interesting. They are the ones who can see through the misty shadows. They know how to connect the dots, and in case they don’t – they’ll connect them anyway. By definition those people are misunderstood (mostly by themselves) and rarely accepted in their own (or anyone’s) time. Crazy and sometimes a bit scary. For them security, clarity and order are temporary states between the train stations of the Great Unknown and the Grave. Unlike the Administrators they don’t love routines. It just helps them to recharge. They are at the extreme end of where Administrators stand. Everything accepted as “common sense” is bullshit for them. It is symbol of stagnation. Change, experimentation and doing crazy stuff is part of their DNA. They want to shine everywhere and to enlighten everyone. As a result they have tendency to turn into obnoxious know-it-alls. That’s great because leaves less room for suicidal tendencies, which they tend to have (more or less). Sometimes they can be very calm and rather boring, more often than not – they aren’t. Good thing is that they rarely turn into criminals but when they do… their transgressions won’t ever be forgotten. The Liberators are the drivers of creativity and innovation. Until their focus shifts. They are in perpetual doubt about anything, doubting about doubt included. Some of them hide their insecurity, but once they make a decision that decision would be followed until the very end. With passion. If ‘change’ is the dirty word for the Administrators, the pervert one for the Liberators is ‘hierarchy’. They despise it from A to Z. Will tend to fuck it up at every opportunity given. Not that they do not recognize the need of one, they just will stomp in it anyway. Then revive it, hug it, kiss it, then repeat. In the army you can find those people either in the intelligence/counter intelligence units or in prison. Sometimes in the asylum. They can be the love of your life or the cannibal that will eat you (and your family) and then – they’ll eat themselves. Weirdos for sure.
The Redundant ones
Every organization with 200 or more people can happily remove 1/3 of them and this will not affect the business, profits, efficiency. In fact it can enhance them. Those 1/3 are the Redundant ones, also known as the Inertz, Autopilots, Butterflies or Tourists. The name of their God, as taken from the scripture of yore, is Passer-ah-By. They are not bad people. It is just that their interests, goals and needs have the absolute minimal possible intersection with everyone else. They are great as artists, travelers or just passers-by. The old scriptures state that their presence in this world is translucent. The good thing is that they are everywhere and they serve as the pillar of every (not really) society. They are the forever teens and never adults. They drive the economy and one day they’ll drive the rest (of us) to the outer colonies. Another great thing is that unlike the Administrators or the Liberators those people are not extreme. Cases of complete disconnect from the Mother Ship are rather rare. The bad thing is that even the mild cases are beyond tolerable. They are ambitious but in completely different terms than the rest. Their favourite response is a dumb question or a blank stare. They can’t ever be or get bothered by anything because why should they? They are just passing by.
